Wire Room

The “WIRE ROOM”

If you are considering intercepting the open web, or the DarkNet you need to first remember the legal requirements as we discussed in the previous lesson. Next, and as important, is determining your interception equipment. There are many different systems available on today’s market and you or your department would be wise to look at all of them. When talking to these companies, DEMAND they provide a live demonstration of an IP intercept. There have been those that say they can intercept over IP but could not, make them prove they can.

In this lesson, the Sytech ADACS4 system is shown for demonstration purposes, you will be provided a list of other known companies who have similar systems to intercept the internet. Some of your departments may already own “wiretap” systems, most of these systems can be upgraded to intercept Internet Protocol. So, make sure you reach out to your current vendor first, you may be able to do a simple upgrade and be up and running in no time.

Several of the major cell service providers have a new means of sending email tracking information on a timely basis (E-911), regardless of the target making phone calls. ATT, Sprint-Nextel, T-Mobile all now offer this service. An email is sent out on a 15-minute interval with LAT and Long information as well as a degree of certainty. Usually it will be the target’s location + or – 100 meters. ADACS4 will take this feature in live and plot it on the live map. This information is also stored in the database so that it will be searchable later.

IP Intercepts

ADACS4 Title 3 System allows for the ingestion, analysis, and reporting of all Service Provider’s CALEA delivery systems with a wide range of evidential and intelligence data relating to telephone numbers, location based and IP services. Specific abilities include, but are not limited to:

* Receive real-time call data and audio information.

* Receive real-time location information.

* Receive real-time SMS messages.

* Import historical call detail records.

* Import data from confiscated devices.

* Import IP data from service provider records.

* Identify service providers for telephone numbers and IP addresses.

* Analyze collected data, revealing commonalities, habits, and associates.

* Generate reports, subpoenas, and other documents pertinent to cases and targets.

* Receive automatic email alerts based on specified parameters.

The Figure below displays the Live Monitor Interface of the ADACS Pen Register System.

In this example, the agency can view, in real-time, a target receiving and sending SMS messages, making and receiving phone calls, as well as estimate the target’s location.

Voice Intercepts

ADACS4 supports many IP cameras, to include Axis, Sony, Canon and Panasonic.

ADACS4 supports a number of covert GPS Trackers on the market today.
